These words make me feel tingly inside: Ethical, sustainable, fair trade, package free & eco-friendly.

I get so excited by BYOC initiatives: BYOC: Bring your own container - to weigh the product & purchase it in, without using packaging, particularly plastic!

Toronto, Canada has so much to offer in terms of forward thinking stores. Blogger & Healer, Annie, has a comprehensive list here.

ZERO WASTE FAVOURITES

1) bare market; East Toronto

BYOC & fill up on locally sourced / sometimes seasonal / package-free goods & grocery items.

You can find shampoo/conditioner, DIY ingredients, laundry pods & vitamins.

I really love the bulk deodorant in vanilla! It actually works!

Address: 1480 Danforth Ave

2) Unboxed Market; West Toronto

This adorable zero waste market in downtown Toronto features a grocery store, cafe + bakery.

I am particularly obsessed with their beautiful cheese collection!

Address: 1263 Dundas St W.

3) Pretty Clean Shop; West Toronto

This plastic-free, low-waste, refill store has a ton of refillable products & a vast makeup selection.

Here's a picture from my last haul; a dish soap block that has lasted 2+ years, mascara from elate cosmetics, a safety razor, reusable mask, bamboo toothbrush, compostable dish brush, shampoo/condition & laundry pods.

Address: 3072 Dundas St W
