Thank you everyone for an incredible summer!

It's been seven weeks since we began on this journey, starting with 3 kids at camp and ending our final week with 15 children and 3 teachers!

We met and learned from 5 other Instructors this summer! Some taught us about landfills, yoga, personal affirmations, bear growls, shelter building, recycling, music and songwriting, new predator-prey games and even french!

I appreciate everyone using word of mouth to get our camp out there. I have used zero marketing because of the incredible family and friend networks you all have! Thank you for spreading the word!

We thoroughly explored and played in the northern area of High Park! It now feels like a secondary home to all of us. In addition, thanks to the High Park "train," we visited western, southern and eastern points of interest! We also endured thunderstorms and heat advisories, made new friends of varying ages, and got along (mostly) with our siblings!

I have a very vivid, visual memory on our last Friday together - when the kids were signing farewell cards to one another. Some drew pictures, others shared words or expressions of kindness, and some narrated to the teachers what they wanted to write. One child remarked with pride to me, "Wait 'til you see all the nice things I wrote my friends!"

It has been magical and invigorating to see these awesome kids show up with only backpacks and have an absolute blast in the forest with their new friends. I've heard some say, "This was the best day ever!" and even, "I want to sleep in the trees!"

To see little ones appreciate the squirrels, name them and support their acorn missions; has been so uplifting in such a strange and uncertain time. One child remarked, "Can we go visit hot dog (the squirrel) and see if she needs water?"

To sing songs and hear stories about the transformation of the cicada. No longer are they "just a bug," but a someone with goals like us. One kid remarked, "They only live for 2 weeks?! How will they get to meet their mom?!" This journey has reminded me of how little we truly need to feel this amount of happiness.

It has been an honor spending time in High Park with your wonderful children.

I hope to see you all soon!

Thank you,

Quigley
